I'm changing all of my tanks to this substrate. My plants love it. My shrimp love it and my bottom feeders do too. I have 5 tanks and everybody's happy.

I just love this CaribSea Eco Complete Black Substrate. I will not go back to Seachem Flourite Black in any of my tanks.

Great substrate!

Love this stuff. I have it in my 18 gallon. I have previously used Seachem Fluorite Black Clay Gravel in another tank of mine and to be honest I prefer this CaribSea stuff instead. You do not need to wash or rinse it before adding to tank as it comes with water and other great bacteria to get your tank going. Cost is very reasonable as well!

I bought two bags for my 20 gallon high tank. It's been only two weeks, my plants seems liked the substrate. The purchase was fast considering the covid 19 situation.

Saved me some money by going this route inside of aquasoil, etc. Make sure to rake the substrate with your fingers to allow the finer "sand" to go at the bottom. Pros: substrate is large enough somewhat porous so the fine roots to grow and attach to. No need to wash, and comes fertilized. Being my first planted tank, its great to see them thriving from day one. Cons: Substrate size makes it challenging to plant smaller plants such as in-vitro plants. The ones with little to no roots are even more challenging. You end up having to put them deeper and the bottom leaves end up rotting (but the plant still grows!)
