Description

Indian almond leaves (katappa, catappa, katappang leaves) are commonly used for conditioning betta fish but are also ideal for keeping discus, corys, gouramis, tetras, angelfish, South American dwarf cichlids and shrimp. They are rich in compounds that tend to improve fertility, health, and vigour of tropical fish. The leaves release ample amounts of tannins into the water, that have antibacterial and anti-fungal properties but it will turn the water brown. The tannins will also affect the pH value of the water (depending on the hardness of the water).

GINORMOUS!
By Emily from Toronto, Canada on January 19, 2018
These leaves are HUGE! They're also as beautiful as the picture. Definitely the best quality indian almond leaves I have seen. I love using them in my betta tanks since it really seems to relax them as it makes them feel more like home and also has the added benefit of natural healing properties:) I highly recommend buying from here. The price point is amazing for the size and amount you receive!

Awesome for quarantine tanks

I find these a great addition to the quarantine tank with new fish. And it helps that my shrimp seem to like eating them.

Aquarium safe addition to a dwarf shrimp tank
By aquapico from Toronto, Canada on September 26, 2017
For a peace of mind, get aquarium safe Indian almond leaves from reliable source. While picked on the street mulberry or oak leaves could be used, they might have traces of pesticides or just plain city air pollution. Better be safe than sorry.

Contains tannins, helps to soften water a bit, and serves as a substrate for a biofilm, cherry shrimp food.

Big leafs, great quality. Shrimps like snacking on it every now and then, which is funny to watch.
