Description

Filter starter balls are gell balls containing a large number of beneficial bacteria.

Place them on your filter media and they will dissolve slowly and release the bacteria, which will collonize the filter media. The balls will shrink into 1mm balls and might exit the filter. To prevent them from exiting the filter, place them in a media bag and remove them when the seeding process is completed.

The filter starter balls can be used for both cycling a new tank or for adding more beneficial bacteria to your filter.

Each portion contains 1 tablespoon of gell balls

Starter Balls

I dont know how effective it is but i think it is better than nothing. I use than for start up filter and after cleaning. The fish stay healty. I use biohome ulitmate media and i since, i saw an increase of life in the tank. The fish swin like crazy and they look better. I found Angelfins via Biohome since they are the resller here in canada and i do not regret buying from them. Great store with a tons of great product. The service is number 1.

Small Portion

It's great that your close to home ordering biohome media is cheaper and delivery is fast,but your portion of bio balls is small. It's good for the start up but I purchased for after cleaning the filter to replace the old ones just to make sure. I know it's says tablespoon then it says -around 50 balls. That's what I thought I was ordering. Maybe you should change that wording. Great product and angelfins is an awesome company will have to order more next time now that I know.

Ehrmmm..

Not sure if these even work, portion is not very much. Atleast angelfins doesn't sell you squished ones like other places online.

Response from Angelfins: Thank you for the review. The portion contains 1 table spoon of gel balls, that amount is sufficient to colonize over 10kg of Biohome media as each of the balls is loaded with huge amount of beneficial bacteria.
