Filter starter balls are gel balls containing a large number of beneficial bacteria.
Place them on your filter media and they will dissolve slowly and release the bacteria, which will colonize the filter media. The balls will shrink into 1 mm balls and might exit the filter. To prevent them from exiting the filter, place them in a media bag and remove them when the seeding process is completed.
The filter starter balls can be used for cycling a new tank or for adding more beneficial bacteria to your filter.
Each portion contains one tablespoon of gel balls.
