This Apistogramma is a beautiful man-made strain of A. agassizi. Similarly to wild caught A. agassizi, males have an elongated and spear shaped caudal fin. Females have a rounded caudal fin. Both males and females have yellow to orange color and purple back. Males grow usually to the size of 2.5" and females often reach the size of about 1.5". These fish are tank raised and can acclimate to a very broad range of water parameters. They can be kept in a community tank with other non-aggressive fish, planted tank with a few hiding places is optimal. FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Yes, you can order fish along with dry goods. However, if the dry goods are heavy or bulky, it may be more cost-effective to place two separate orders. In that case, you could ship the dry goods using a slower, more affordable shipping option.

If your order has not shipped yet, you can email us your correct shipping address, and we will update it for you.

On weekdays, if we receive your order before 2 p.m., it will be shipped out the same day. Dry goods are shipped from Monday to Friday. Orders that include livestock are only shipped from Monday to Thursday to avoid transit over the weekend.

At checkout, you can leave your request in the comments box.

Our locker boxes are located in the foyer of our store at 230 Hanlon Creek Blvd, Unit 107, Guelph. The room is accessible from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
