The Rainbow Tetra is a stunning relative of the Emperor Tetra, displaying iridescent gold, green, blue, and violet hues that shift with the lighting. Males develop extended dorsal and caudal fin rays similar to Emperor Tetras and are often more colourful than females. Peaceful and active, this species thrives in schools and makes an excellent addition to well-planted community aquariums. Adults grow to about 2–2.5 inches (5–6 cm).
