The sponge filter consists of a 5.5" long cubelifter and a 3" x 3" x 3" Poret foam sponge (45 ppi) that is glued with silicone onto an unglazed porcelain tile. This filter is optimal for 2.5-5 gallon tanks. Over the years, we have tested several sponges in our hatchery. We believe that this sponge (made by Swiss Tropicals) is one of the best on the market, simply because it does not clog quickly and it does not fall apart like other sponges. The Poret foam that the sponge filter is made of is specifically manufactured for aquarium and pond use and has a much larger inner surface area than other filter materials (about 1800 sq in per quart of volume), which permits more rapid and superior growth of bacterial cultures.

Yes, you can order fish along with dry goods. However, if the dry goods are heavy or bulky, it may be more cost-effective to place two separate orders. In that case, you could ship the dry goods using a slower, more affordable shipping option.

If your order has not shipped yet, you can email us your correct shipping address, and we will update it for you.

On weekdays, if we receive your order before 2 p.m., it will be shipped out the same day. Dry goods are shipped from Monday to Friday. Orders that include livestock are only shipped from Monday to Thursday to avoid transit over the weekend.

Our locker boxes are located in the foyer of our store at 230 Hanlon Creek Blvd, Unit 107, Guelph. The room is accessible from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
