Power Sand

Power Sand is a base substrate material designed for providing nutrients to the roots of aquatic plants. It contains porous volcanic stones that secure optimal water circulation. The Power Sand is rich in organic nutrients that promote the growth of beneficial aerobic bacteria and prevents an anaerobic conditions in the substrate, which would start to rot the roots of plants. The Power Sand has more nutrients than Aqua Soils allowing planted tanks to remain stable and healthy for a long time.
The growth of aquatic plants such as Echinodorus or Cryptocoryne species (plants that absorb nutrients through their roots) depends largely on the amount of nutrients in the substrate. The Power Sand Special is already premixed with the right amount of Bacter 100 and Super Clear. It is recommended for aquarists who are setting a new tank and do not want to buy a whole bottle of Bacter 100 and Super Clear. Tourmaline BC, Penac-C and Penac-W are still required to be added to complete the foundation.

Recommendation: Leave about 2 inches at the front of the aquarium without the Power Sand. It is not necessary to use it over the entire bottom of the tank.
