If your old eheim bursts after unplugging consider replacing the o-ring seal

My old Eheims used to burst and cause a mess after simply unplugging the filter, and this was due to sudden pressure/flow changes as a result of the o-ring being worn down over the years. Changing the old o-ring seal fixed this problem.

This retrofit is easy enough to do and brings back life (flow) to the otherwise indestructable Eheim 2217.

Very powerful. Super loud

This belongs in a fish room. I couldn’t take the noise any more in our Rec room. Moved it to my utility room for a brine shrimp Hatcher several rooms away, which is a waste since I was hoping to use it for my two tanks. We can still hear it in our rec room. It’d be great in a loud fish room as powerful pump though. If that is your use case, this is great.

Healthy and quick establishing

Ordered 2 cultures of these red roots and within a week they have gotten established in my snake tank and even have new growth already. Would recommend to anyone who wants a little pop of color to thier water features.
