Starting to see new growth
By Melanie from London, Canada on June 07, 2020
When I got home I inspected this plant. I've never grown hygrophila before. I did notice a couple leaves closer to the top were an extremely dark green, almost black. I'm not sure what caused it. I haven't noticed this spreading to other leaves since I plated it. Over the week a lot of leaves have dropped, this might be my fault though. I put it in all as 1 bunch together. I'm going to separate the stems, if there is more than 1. I also planted it in a 55gal with the T8 plant lights, but because it's so deep it may not be getting the amount of light it needs.

There was a small shoot near the bottom with leaves just budding. A week later and they are leaves, small but there is visible growth.

Really stands out
By Melanie from London, Canada on June 07, 2020
The gold white cloud really stands out with the creamy gold coloured body and red fins. I deducted 1 * because 1 of the fish had a bent spine. I don't know if it was like that to begin with, occurred from being netted, the drive home or during acclimation. I see there are more in stock, I might add a couple more. The fish were acclimated slowly and they settled in immediately. They coloured up nicely in no time.

This was a nice plant...
By Melanie from London, Canada on June 07, 2020
This was a descent sized bunch of giant Vallisnaria. It needed some trimming to tidy it up a bit, but I was still excited to see this one get established in my 55g. I planted them in the tank and woke up the next day to most of the leaves floating and the culprit was right there chewing on what was left of the stem. My yellow rabbit snails were very busy in the middle of the night, one decided val was better than cucumber and pellets. They gnawed the leaves separate from the roots. Word of warning, Giant val is super tasty to rabbit snails, even when they are well fed. I've had black rabbit snails with regular val and they never touched it. Learn from my mistake. Rabbit snails aren't interested in most plants. Giant val is a super tasty treat, at least according to one of my snails.

There is 1 plant left floating with roots still intact. I'm going to plant this in another tank and see if I can get some more growing.

Super excited to add some females with my males
By Melanie from London, Canada on June 06, 2020
I came across these adorable black tiger badis at a different store. I came home with what I thought was a trio, the person was positive there was only 1 male. They were all male and when I inquired I was told they all look the same as soon as the net goes in. I can understand to a certain degree, I wasn't looking to return fish, I just wanted females. Their loss.

When this fish came in stock at Angel Fins I was so excited! I was finally able to get a couple females to add to my badis tank. They settled in well, I have lots of flower pots, rocks and plants to break the line of sight. So if there is chasing it's only for a second. As with any badis you have to feed live or frozen food. They seem inquisitive when I add flake but they rarely touch it and if they do, they spit it back out. This is just one of those fish you have to accept that they may not convert to flake food.

Unique
By Emily from Canada on June 06, 2020
Something about these rice fish caught my eye and I couldn't say no. There's a subtle beauty to them - with their pearl white skin, the orange cap head against their glowing blue eyes. They came in very healthy and were lively from the start. These seem to be rare and new to the market here (as far as I know), so I am glad Angelfins made these available to us. I only regret not getting more.

Way better than expected
By Emily from Canada on June 06, 2020
I received a very generous amount of frogbit, way more than the 2 portions I ordered. The frogbit came in very healthy with large leaves and long, robust roots that my shrimplets could immediately explore.
